Welcome to Confirmation 2026! What an incredible time for our parish! This year is going to be amazing! This is the 1st year after our diocese and our parish has transitioned from having students confirmed in high school to having them confirmed in the sixth grade. We had a wonderful year with the Confirmation class of 2025 thanks to, in large part, to a very different style of Confirmation preparation. This will not be a traditional, classroom style, Confirmation program. We are going to get out of the classrooms and be focused on the family!
Parents, prepare yourselves to be impacted this year! God has given you the power and authority to share God's love with your kids. Throughout this Confirmation experience we are going to help you as parents to use the gifts you received through your own Confirmation, along with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to help you show your kids the power, love, and goodness of God. Parents, grandparents and/or sponsors will walk with our Confirmation students and learn and grow together.
We know that you are busy and life can be crazy. Having a new middle schooler can add even more chaos to your year. This program is designed with your busy family schedule in mind! There are only six in-person sessions (Soul impact), 7 short videos (family Impact), and a few hours of service (World Impact) for the whole program! It is very manageable but at the same time, very impactful! Please explore this website to see the details of this program, make sure to check out the calendar and do not forget to register!
Thank you for choosing to take in Confirmation this year. You are an incredible parent for wanting your child to be Confirmed and to know God's love. This is going to be a great year and I look forward to meeting and praying with each of you.
These are going to be large group events held at the Parish. The confirmation candidate and their parents will attend these sessions together. The Sponsor may also come and any other family or adult support the Confirmation Candidate has. I know that Mom and Dad are not always the main drivers of Confirmation. If that is the case then whoever that person is can take the place of the parents as needed. We will always have times of prayer with both the candidate and their parent/sponsor/support person. It is important not to leave the teen without an adult to pray with. Every student needs to have at least one adult with them at these sessions.*
The aim of the Soul Impact sessions are to learn as a family about the various elements of the Catholic Faith that are most important for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. This will be done using a variety of formats including large group discussion, games, prayer, etc...
*We want to strongly encourage Mom and Dad to be present if at all possible. Even if Mom and Dad are not Catholic, do not attend Church regularly, or are not religious, they are still very welcome to come with their teen. Link to More Detail
Family Impact will have two parts. The first and possibly the most impactful piece of the whole program is family prayer. You will develop a system and try to form a habit of praying together as a family. We will discuss ways to do this during the parent info night and our first Soul Impact Session.
The second part will be watching and discussing some of the videos on YDisciple.com and Formed.org. As a family or with the Candidate and at least one parent/sponsor/support person sit down together to watch and discuss the assigned video. Try not to have the candidate watch the video alone. We want parents to learn too. You may join with another family or two and do these video discussions together but parents, please take responsibility for this. You may also use Mary's house. Arrange it with Sam Geringer and he will set up a discussion room with a TV and laptop to watch the videos. Link to More Detail
World Impact is our service component of Confirmation. Doing good work is beneficial whether you are a student or an adult. We want parents to do service right along side their kids. Link to more details
